The ‘you are what you eat’ body detox cleanse diet plan was developed by Dr. Gillian McKeith. It is a basically a diet that is high in alkalinity, with a whole lot of emphasis placed on eating plenty of fruit and vegetables.
This body detox diet has the following basic yet very important principles:
• You can eat as much as you want just as long as you are eating the right kinds of foods cooked or prepared in the right way.
• Do not worry or focus so much on your weight, as weight loss will come automatically as long as you follow the plan religiously.
• Make this diet a lifestyle and not a one time thing
An important step before starting this detox plan is to remove and get rid of all the things that may tempt you. But these are going to include things like fatty foods, sweets, all processed and refined foods, junk foods, ice cream, shop bought fruit juice, biscuits and cookies, white rice or pasta and so forth.
A typical day when you are on this diet will involve the following:
In the morning:
Mix half a glass of fresh lemon or lime juice with warm water and drink. This should be done immediately after waking up.
For breakfast
Make juice using fresh fruits and vegetables, you may use mangos, bananas, different berries, apples, pears, pineapples or any other that you prefer.
For lunch
Soups especially suits which are made from fresh vegetables are recommended. One of the best kind of soups to eat on this diet is spinach soup or beetroot soup.
For dinner
You may choose to have smoked salmon, pork, beef or chicken with a lot of steamed vegetables and different kinds of vegetable soups.
Through out the day you may have a few snacks to avoid feeling hungry like blueberries, celery sticks, carrot sticks, grapes, nuts and so on.
These type of cleansers can also work if you are on a quick weight loss diet. But if you’re using this type of food program to lose weight you should also try and incorporate a certain level of exercise. This course of action will not only help to keep you fit, it will also help to burn the fat off your body. In the long run, a healthy lifestyle is going to be your best bet.
