Today we will be talking about a man that many consider to be one of the most influential people of the 20th century.  The man that I am referring to is known by the name of Malcolm X.

Malcolm X lived a relatively short life of only 40 years.  He was born in the year 1925 and eventually assassinated in the year 1965.  His life was dedicated to fighting for the rights of African Americans in some consider him is so extreme that they dubbed him as being racist against white people.

After serving prison time for breaking and entering Malcolm X joined a Muslim group called the Nation Of Islam.  His natural leadership skills served him well and it wasn’t long after joining this group that he climbed in their ranks and became one of their top leaders.  What many people find to be quite ironic is that he left this group and It was only a few years after leaving the Nation Of Islam that he was assassinated by three members of this group.

While the main stream equal rights movement was working towards the equal rights, quality, and peace, Malcolm X was calling for his people to rise up and support his black supremacy way of thinking.  After leaving the Nation Of Islam he spoke out and said that his viewpoints on separation were not those of his own but rather the viewpoints of the Nation Of Islam.
