The first tip is to make sure that you scout the location for which you will be photographing the wedding. The second tip is to plan ahead. This means designing the list of pictures that you want to take, making sure that you have back up cameras, extra film, extra batteries, a brighter light just in case and so forth. It is better to come to these events with too much equipment, rather than be absent of something and the pictures turn out less than perfect.

When you are working with a digital camera, do not check each and every shot after it is taken to make sure that it looks good. You will be tempted to delete some of these, and this is not the time to do this. Instead, check a few to make sure that the lighting is good and continue to work. Next, be sure that you are not being too timid. You will want to get into the wedding and make sure that you are capturing shots that are going to be priceless. However, do not overdo this in the fact that you become someone that others want to get out of the way. It is delicate line between being too forward and being too timid.

Last of all, be creative. If you can find a new angle to shoot from and a new pose that you can put the happy couple in, then do it. The more creative that you are the more that you will earn some points for being this creative and likely to be recommended by others.
