Bedding : What Do You Really Need?

When you are just moving into your own home for the first time it would be great just to roll up to the store and buy one of those beautiful bedding ensembles with matching pillows, throws and bed skirts. But for most of us it’s not in our budget – we have to confine ourselves to buying the bedding we really need.

Assuming you already have a bed with a quality mattress (and a good mattress is essential for a good night’s sleep) then you will need the following :-

• a mattress protector to keep your mattress looking like new for the 10 years it should last
• smooth, quality bottom sheet in either cotton or poly-cotton
• duvet or comforter in a weight to match your climate. The duvet sets which give you a light and medium weight duvet which you can use together in winter are good for those who live in a variable climate
• pillows with the level of firmness and support you require
• a beautiful duvet cover and matching pillow cases

After that you should be able to sleep well (without getting into too much debt) and dream about those designer bedding ensembles that will be within your reach one day.
