  • Tips for Dealing with Car Accident Settlements

Posted on February 2nd, 2010 GuestPoster No comments

Being involved in a car crash can be a pain – literally.  If you’ve been in a wreck, soon you will be involved in negotiations with the insurance company to determine the amount that your settlement will be.  A negotiated settlement benefits both sides because both you and the insurance company avoid lengthy and costly legal proceedings.  But, insurances companies have years of experience in dealing with settlements, giving them the upper hand.  If you want to have a little more leverage with the insurance company, follow these general tips.

First, don’t agree to any settlement offered immediately after your accident.  No two car crashes are alike and neither will any two settlements.  Take your time and make sure that you have all the proper research done   Laws differ from state to state, but in most state you will have at least a year before you have to file charges to move your accident claim forward.  Use this time to put together your case and negotiate with the company.

When you submit a counter offer to the company, make sure that it is well-researched and supported, especially if you are sending in an auto accident settlement letter.  Any settlement letter that you submit should include all of your expenses itemized out in the greatest amount of detail possible and any applicable receipts that prove these damages were indeed what you paid.  By supporting your claim strongly, it makes it look like you know what you are doing, that your offer is legitimate, and that you won’t be making huge concessions.

Finally, if your settlement is for a large amount, you should consider enlisting the help of a lawyer.  They can charge large fees, up to about one-third of the settlement in some cases, and might not be worth the price in more straightforward cases, but if your case involves significant personal injury, they can make sure that your right are protected.

Posted on February 2nd, 2010 No comments

Are you looking to replace the wall panels within your house? Have you considered all of the different types of material that you can use to make your panels? You could use glass, fiberglass, or any other of dozens of types of materials in your quest for the perfect walls. Acrylic shower wall panels are a great type of wall panels because they are cheap and light, and they stand up to worrysome water well. They are more susceptible to cracking, but it’s an easy fix: just add some simple paste and they are good to go. Fiberglass inserts, on the other hand, and more durable and heavier, but also cost more. They are good investments if you want wall panels that won’t have to be repaired in the short term.

If you think you have a slab leak, you should look into slab leak repair options right away. The longer it goes on, the more complicated and costly the problem is to fix. If you don’t know what you’re doing or the problem is large, you should call a plumber to repair any slab leaks you may have. If the problem is small, you can try to repair it yourself. Simply remove the section of your floor that’s damp, cut the water supply, replace the damaged pipe and pour concrete back over the space. The problem could be in a spot that’s not easily accessed and the pipes may need to be rerouted.  Slab leak repairs done by a professional can cost $1,500 or more depending on the size and location of the problem. However, if left untreated, it could damage the entire foundation.

  • Make Sure Your Teenager is Prepared for the Road

Technically, any teenager that simply has passed the drivers training course as well as the three short courses of behind-the-wheel, they can wait all the way until their driver’s license test and luckily pass. If you put that altogether, a 16-year-old can get away with less than 10 hours of driving before obtaining their license. However, in order to become a good driver, experience is the biggest factor.

Make sure your child experiences driving on the road, from freeways to side roads, to dealing with traffic jams and other situations. Preparing your child with the experience they need to safely drive on their own is the best method of teaching you can do, and you will also feel a lot safer knowing that you trained your teenager the right way. • Portable car battery chargers

Posted on September 28th, 2009 whaleadmin No comments

Although everyone has one in the car very few people understand how car batteries work. When you look inside a car battery you will find that there are lead plates are immersed in an acid solution, when the circuit is open the reaction between the lead and acid is put on hold as there is nowhere for the electrons to go, however when the battery is connected to something drawing an electrical charge such as a starter motor or head lights the reaction will start. The reaction which causes the flow of electrons is the covering of the lead plates with lead sulphate crystals once the lead plates are fully covered the battery will be completely out of power and will require a services of a portable car battery charger which will be able to bring the battery back to life.
