Meditation has become a commonplace activity over the past decade or so. What used to be considered weird is not thought of as beneficial and even sought after. Yet at the same time meditation is a little foreign in concept for many and it is not easy to know where to get started.
One of the best starting meditations to get going with is a chakra meditation for beginners. This moves the attention of the mind through all the seven main chakras with the goal of clearing them out and helping those energy points to be strong and vital.
The seven chakras include:
The red base chakra at the bottom of the spine.
The orange chakra found over the sex center of the body.
The yellow chakra, which is located over the navel.
The green chakra found in combination with the heart.
The blue chakra over the throat area.
The indigo chakra, which is just above and between the eyes on the forehead.
The last chakra is the crown chakra which is violet in color and at the very top of the head.
To use these as a premise for your meditation practice start at the base and work your way up putting your attention on each chakra one at a time. Send your in breath to the area of the chakra and continue this until your can feel the life force and vitality of that area increasing. As you continue this you will know when to move onto the next chakra until all are cleared and healthy.
The clearing of these energy centers can help with the functioning of you in life all around you. You will find certain ease and relaxation that seeps into your life as you continue to focus your energy and attention on clearing these energy centers.
