Ergonomic Office Chairs

Choosing an ergonomic office chair can be a daunting process, but it really doesn’t have to be.  If you understand what you should be looking for then it makes it much easier to choose the right one for you.   Ergonomic chairs should have a few standard features:

  • Adjustable Height
  • Backrest
  • Armrests
  • Swivel feature
  • Lumbar support

Each feature is essential for proper care of the individual using the chair.  Lumbar support and back rests give proper support for the back, a very important function for the office worker.  More money is spent on back injuries every year than for any other work related injury.  Armrests are important for keeping the arms properly aligned while typing and help to avoid carpal tunnel syndrome, another costly expense for businesses.  Adjustable height is important for allowing all users to have their feet planted flat on the floor, again allowing for proper back support.  The swivel function allows for users to easily reach everything within their workspace and avoid strain from stretching.
