Its not particularly hard to find shops that sell womens shoes as they seem to be everywhere. What is difficult is to find places that stock fashionable, functional designs at an affordable price. What usually happens is that we come upon a store or web site that sells shoes we don’t need and might not even particularly like and we buy them any way. They end up sitting at the back of the wardrobe until such time in the future when we might use them, that time usually never comes.

There are however plenty of styles of shoe that every women should have at least one pair of for times when they are needed, one such style are wedge shoes. If you haven’t got a pair of designer wedge shoes then you are missing out on a comfy, practical and stylish footwear option, if you know which ones to choose.

Wedge shoes are one design that rarely ends up at the back of the wardrobe but if you are unsure about which type to buy here is a little bit about one of my favorites:

Not all wedge shoes are massive platform wedge shoes or gaudy retro styles, and one of the most classic must have designs is the slender wedge heel pump like the one by Tory Burch called the Nelson Studded Open-Toe pump. Why is this one of the must have womens shoes? Because it’s great for the office or any formal occasion, can be worn with nylons or pantyhose or without, and because the high slender heel is elegant while still being a wedge so it’s easy to walk in and comfy in general because your sole has support unlike the stiletto or stacked heel pumps with no arch support between the heel and the pall of the foot. You can wear a wedge style pump all day and not have sore feet. And you don’t have to choose a low heeled shoe or a sensible design with a 1.5 inch heel. Go for a 3 or 4 inch heel and you’ll hardly feel it because you’ll be walking on a firm base that’s soft.
