There seems to be a buzz of late growing on the internet and in small professional circles about mac makeup products and to be more accurate about switching away from them in the kits used by makeup professionals. A few years ago when Este Lauder bought out Mac makeup this was when the trouble started. I bet you can guess where this is going. How many times have we seen this happen. A really great product built by people that were passionate for it, get an offer from some great big company that is not able to create very well on their own, so they buy and ultimately they bastardize the product in the name of corporate profit. They start using cheaper ingredients, they start tricking the customer in ways that are easy because of the trust built by the former owner / creator of the product.
Have you ever heard of something like this before? Well, it seems to possibly be happening to what used to be one of the great makeup companies, Mac. I am not saying that it is for sure but this is the drift of what I am hearing and reading online from all over the place. The constant almost incessant new products that come out in new packages but when you look at them they are maybe repackaged old colors that were produced some time in the past.
Have you had any experience where the makeup just doesn’t work as well as it used to? That is another thing that I keep hearing online. It seems to have lost its edge. Professionals are starting to look elsewhere for the top of the line makeup and it has been said that it is not showing up in their makeup kits or bags like it used to.
The every present mac makeup tips are probably not going to be flowing from these folks that make a living in the makeup world so this all may have a negative effect on the sales and in turn on what the company will do to compensate. It should be an interesting study over the next few years as this all plays out and we see what ultimately happens to our beloved Mac Makeup.
