It is good for a person to have a hobby. Yes, a hobby is a must for every individual in my opinion. What I mean to say by that is that every one of us needs to have some sort of diversion, so that they can take their minds off all the problems and troubles that they have to face each and every day. It is an entirely necessary thing as far as I am concerned, for people to either be productive or just plain entertained and amused. There is no sense to always dwell on the serious side of life, as it will only be counterproductive and stress us out too much. Having a specific hobby would be sure to take care of that, and allow us to either have fun or be very productive, and in some cases, even both.

I am an advocate of this philosophy about having a hobby. This is based upon my own experience at having a personal hobby that I am really enjoying right now. It is something that I just recently learned, and that is carpentry, focusing on cabinet and simple furniture making. I decided that I needed to have any kind of hobby, as I was always busy with my work and was getting pretty burned out by it. When I was still making my choice, I actually looked at several possible hobbies, as I wanted something that would still make me productive, rather than have something that will just allow me to enjoy and have fun. Little did I know that it would really be productive and even very profitable. Now I am into making bulk cabinet hardware, which is getting to be really quite in demand. During my spare time from work, all I am really thinking about are things that are connected to my hobby. Stuff like bulk cabinet kitchen handles are some of the things that are keeping me preoccupied right now, and I am quite happy that it does.
