My Favorite Soccer Player
Posted on June 29th, 2009 No commentsThe French man was a legend. He was a fantastic player with great charisma and only held back by an infamous temper. Known as the King to his fans who wore their collars up in imitation, Eric Cantona was one of the greatest of all times.
Bought by Manchester United from Leeds United in 1992 for £1.1m he helped them win the renamed English First Division which had become the Premier League and in doing so helped Man United to their first league title in a long time while also taking it from reigning Champ’s and his ex-club Leeds.
Cantona only spent a few seasons at Manchester United and retired early but in his time he scored goals for fun and was even made captain of the team.
However he was never far from controversy and will always be remembered for his kung-fu kick into the crowd at Crystal Palace. Still he is seen as the guy that started the United revolution and is loved by many fans.
