Once you have more than just a few pieces of jewelry, you’ll probably want to start considering some kind of jewelry stand or organizer. These kinds of organizers are great for keeping your jewelry neat and untangled, and will help keep them from getting nicked and beaten up too. Here’s some advice on how I keep my jewelry organized the most.

For necklaces and bracelets, I prefer to keep them on a jewelry tree stand that I purchased for this exact reason. The tree shape hangs them at different heights, so it’s easy to look through all of them and get an idea of everything I own. It’s also designed to look like a real tree, which I think is pretty cute, and it looks good standing on top of my dresser. When it’s filled with necklaces it’s like a tiny glittering plant, and it sparkles in the light. It’s very nice.

If you’re trying to keep earrings arranged, then some kind of a jewelry box may work better. Earrings can be hung on their own stands too, but I find myself knocking them off often enough that I’d rather they just be in a jewelry box, preferably on their display cards so that I don’t lose one and not the other. I have a box that actually has some smaller hooks on the inside of the cover, and so when I open it, I have a dozen sets of earring looking right at me, ready to be chosen. And while this may not be the best for you, it works very well for me.

So as soon as you find yourself getting a little confused or overwhelmed by the amount of jewelry you have, do yourself a favor and get a jewelry stand to help organize everything. You’ll find it saves more than enough trouble to justify the purchase.
