Rehabilitation On The Las Vegas Strip

I’ve lived in Vegas for quite some time now. As a young college drop out in Miami, I had no direction in my life. Being stable, settling down and building a happy future were the least of my concerns. I was caught in parties, alcohol, illegal substances and many other sins I have chosen to forget. It came as no surprise when my family decided that enough was enough. What was a surprise was that they found a rehabilitation center in Las Vegas! The hotels on Las Vegas Strip are known for the throwing some of the best parties in the world. Ironically, Las Vegas is where I learned that there is more to life than partying!
Rehab was probably the best time I had, ever. We were actually encouraged to visit casinos and other forms of entertainment! The clinic had an understanding with the best hotel in Vegas, The Luxor. The hotel staff treated us like royalty. All they had to do was make sure we were far away from the many inviting bars! Through positive reinforcement the clinic taught me that every party is much more fun when one is sober. The transition from “drink for a living” to “sober with a cause” was made easier with access to a familiar environment, attended with a clear mind. I learned to make rationale choices, make proper conversation and eventually find my calling. It goes without saying; you must pass a lot of tests, and be on your best behavior for the clinic to promote you to this level! For months, I wasn’t even allowed to say the word “beer”!
My drunk and disorderly ways have ended. Today, I am probably the world’s only non-drinking bar owner! I still find time to attend a few parties now and again and I often bump into a few doctors who aided me in my transition. I can proudly say I haven’t held a glass full of alcohol in the past eighteen months. I advise young party goers to drink responsibly. Don’t make the mistakes I did. ALWAYS, designate a driver before everyone is drunk!
