Healthy Skin for Men

Naturally most men do not take skincare seriously. Although there may be products specifically designed for men’s skin problems, the use of these items are not used as often as women’s skincare products. Many companies have manufactured these products but the number of people using it is very few.

Skincare and cosmetics are not used by men as often as women do. Men only use cosmetic products when they encounter problems with their skin. This commonly occurs when they get cuts from shaving. Even for this they use alcohol based products that can damage the skin more than it is beneficial to it.

The good thing though is that there is an increasing number of men who are more conscious of their skin care needs and actually look after their skin problems. The needs of men are very different from women. Also, the products now available in the department stores may not answer their skin care needs. It is important that before buying a product, the ingredients must be checked to see if it meets the skin problems that are present.

To address the skincare that men need, the root causes should be dealt with. The problems with daily shaving irritation and inflammation should be treated with products that have a mild effect. Using alcohol based after shaving only dries out the skin and can even worsen the skin integrity, making it more prone to cuts and bruises.

There are solutions and tonics that can be used by men which are made with natural ingredients. These products can help alleviate skin problems with less irritating effects. An example of a natural extract is witch hazel. It is known to soothe the skin from the irritations of shaving and can also reduce inflammation.

It is much more beneficial if you can use natural products on your face rather than a commercially promoted product that may have harmful ingredients that can damage your face rather than help it out.

Anti-Aging Skin Care

We cannot deny the fact that as we grow older our body will also mature as well as our skin. The skin being the largest organ in the body is the most visible of all. Men and women are very particular with it. The older we get, we sometimes wish that our age will move backward so that we will always have youthful and radiant looking skin.

But worry no more! In our day and age, we can actually defeat skin aging. We have the expensive anti-aging skin care for those who really can afford it. This includes anti-aging creams, retinoids, Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Hydroquinone (which is also known as the bleaching cream which is responsible for the production of melanin) and green tea (very popular as an anti oxidant). We also have a simple yet effective antiaging skin care for those people who have to stretch their budgets.

These inexpensive methods include eating the right balance of food, sleeping at least eight hours per day, exercising at least 30 minutes everyday or taking time to stretch your muscles every now and then. If our muscles are relaxed our skin will definitely like it. Also being happy with your life is important. Being happy releases the negative energy that we have in our body. Skin ages in many ways.

We have many reasons as to how and why skin ages. Our skin being the most visible, most exposed organ in our body is likely to be the evidence of what we eat, feel and do in our daily lives. Too much exposure to the sun will damage our skin.

If we are stressed out, it will make us look older. Be positive! Having a positive attitude is the most inexpensive, most effective way of fighting aging skin. The more we enjoy life, the more our skin will be radiant and youthful.

David Sinclair’s Resveratrol Contribution

Dr. David Sinclair is most known for his contributions to the study of resveratrol on the aging process. He sees aging as a series of ongoing diseases, and when resveratrol was discovered to activate Sirtuins he hoped he had found a powerful weapon to help fight off these aging diseases. He has made it no secret that he believes there are numerous benefits possible with resveratrol supplements, and even began taking the pills himself before any real human test had started.

He founded a research company, called Sirtris, to develop a synthetic version of resveratrol. The David Sinclair resveratrol formula is said to be at least five times as powerful as what is available today. The pharmaceutical company GlaxoSmithKline must have really believed in his work, because they paid a reported $720 million to buy out Sirtris. Their resveratrol drug SRT501 is in Phase II testing, and should be available to the public in a few years.

The Future of Resveratrol Supplements

Scientists everywhere are incredibly excited about the prospects of using resveratrol to extend the life in humans.  It has already been shown to extend the life span of yeast, worms, fish, and even mammals such as mice.
Since human trials are still in the beginning stages, and we have such incredibly long life spans, the exact affect it has on us will not be known for some time.

However, many of these researchers are so sure of its anti-aging benefits that they are taking the supplements themselves.  The best example of this is Dr. David Sinclair, one of the leading researchers in this field, who has told the media that he takes about 350 mg per day.

If what researchers believe to be true holds up after further research, then resveratrol supplements may be the key to extended active lifestyles.  Nobody wants to grow old in pain, and with this substance it may be possible to live an active and relatively pain free life into your eighties or nineties.
