  • Rental Reimbursement Information

Posted on September 18th, 2009 whaleadmin No comments

When it comes to additional coverage for auto insurance there are quite a few options to choose from. Most of them are relatively cheap and provide a lot of protection for you and your vehicle. In this case, rental reimbursement is an excellent type of coverage to have on hand at anytime. Along with roadside assistance coverage, you can pretty much handle any incident with confidence knowing that you will get your primary vehicle fixed and have a rental vehicle on hand to drive.

This coverage reimburses the amount that the rental car costs, giving you confidence that even if you have to spend a few hundred dollars on a rental car in the case of an accident, you will be reimbursed and get the money you paid for back. If you do not in fact rent a car but have the coverage, some auto insurance companies will grant you a check for part of the money that would have been allotted for your rental car. • Pay As You Drive Insurance

Posted on September 6th, 2009 whaleadmin No comments

Auto insurance companies are always looking for new ways to calculate auto insurance costs and make new policies. Japanese Auto Insurance Company AIOI put out a new system Pay As You Drive in 2005. This type of insurance is very different from the standard flat-free insurance, and is even different from the similar usage based insurance. Pay As You Drive allows you to reap the benefits of comprehensive car insurance cover, but paying for only the miles that you plan to drive.

For the miles that are not used within a given policy time, if the auto insurance company allows the customer to renew their policy, they can use those miles that were paid for in the previous contract and use them in the next contract that they sign with the auto insurance company. If the miles are completely used before you purchase more miles, than your coverage does not disappear, but is limited to Fire, Theft, and Third Party for the remainder of the contract.
