Which Comes First, the Faucet or the Vessel?
Posted on June 24th, 2009 No commentsWhen you are picking out a sink for your bathroom the first thing that you decide upon is the type of sink vessel that you want. This decision is made by thinking about the space you have available, how many people will be using the bathroom, how much storage you need, etc. The bathroom sink faucet is usually and after thought. However, some people have an idea in their heads about the type of faucet that they like and this can influence your decision on what type of bathroom sink you buy. If you want a large arching swan neck faucet then you might want to consider a vessel sink. These styles match well. If you are concerned about cost and only interested in the most basic of faucets, then it really doesn’t matter what kind of sink you have and a vanity or pedestal sink would probably be best. Finally, a console sink usually has two ornately decorated legs in the front and it is sometimes appropriate to choose a faucet that looks ornate and antique like.

Sprucing Up Your Bathroom
Posted on June 7th, 2009 No commentsWell, it’s almost that time of year again, time for the holidays commence. The kids are at home a few weeks, and this is usually the time when family and friends come to visit. It’s great to have company during these times, but you know in the back of your mind, that your visitors will be surveying your home with a critical eye. You know what this means? You’re going to have to start to clean up. Let’s start with the bathroom. Here are a few things that you can do to make your bathroom more presentable to your visitors.
A great thing that you can do to spruce up your bathroom is to replace your shower doors. This is usually an inexpensive task, and easy enough that you can do it yourself. If you shower doesn’t have a door you can get the same effect from just changing your shower curtains. Install something light and airy to make your bathroom feel more homely. You don’t have to replace the entire shower to create an effect that will truly impress your family.
Similarly, with the bathroom sink, instead of replacing the whole sink. why not just replace the faucets? Bathroom sink faucets can be quite inexpensive, and very easy to replace. Be careful though, once you have new taps installed in your sink, you are going to want to continue and make your whole bathroom as sparkly clean is your taps are.
Another thing that you can do is to get new bathroom linen. Purchase a few sets of towels, hand towels, and bathroom mats to match the decor of your bathroom, and you’ll be surprised at how much of a difference it makes to the overall look of your bathroom.
