As children the late Jacqueline Bouvier Kennedy Onassis and her sister Lee Bouvier Radziwill had several dog companions, but their favourite is believed to have been a white English bull terrier.
Although the bull terrier has always been popular in some circles, it might not have been the number one choice in Germany during the war.
But then, German breeds weren’t too popular in England at that time, either. Very few British families would have shared their home with German shepherds, Weimeraners, Dachsunds, Dobermanns or Schnauzers.
Now however, English breeds are as popular in Germany as German breeds are inĀ England. English Bull Terriers are in fact poular all over the world and rightly so, because they are lovely, friendly dogs with a very good nature. They’re great with kids too!
