Go Green With Solar Lights At Your Next Party
Posted on December 21st, 2010 No commentsYou are having a garden party and you want to make sure every detail is just perfect. The guests are bringing the food; the decorations are up to you. Since it will be an evening affair, the lighting is very important. You want something cute and different, but you do not want open flames or electrical cords due to safety concerns. Solar lights are the solution to all the concerns.
Solar lights are usually placed outdoors where they can collect the suns energy through the solar panel that is typically placed on the top of the light, storing it until it is needed. The lights ordinarily turn themselves on when it gets dark enough to trigger their automatic switch, though some have a manual switch. They also come in sets that are connected together, with one main solar collector to gather the energy for them. The number of lights in each set can vary.Solar lighting can be placed where you most want it, and moved as needed since it is not limited by the distance from an electrical outlet. They can be placed on the side of a building, or hung from trees or lines, or placed in the ground or a flower pot. Because of this flexibility, and mobility, these lights are the perfect choice for evening garden lighting during a party, with the individual lights being preferable so there are not worries about tripping over a cord, or breaking a set. If one wanted to walk away from the main group for any reason, one could also pull one of the lights from where it was and use it as a torch to light their way out and back. With all the wonderful, and cute, designs they make the lights in these days, one can match any party theme, and stay safe at the same time.

Path Light Systems for the Garden
Posted on August 19th, 2010 No commentsGardens can provide an exceptional visual experience at night. Without the addition of lights, however, gardens are just a black splotch in your yard. In some ways, an unlit garden can be spooky and unappealing. Garden lights can allow you to enjoy the beauty of your garden just like you do in the day. Backyard events come to life when you press the “on” switch. There are many kinds of garden lights, and this selection can make the selection process confusing. If it is unclear where to start, always set up some path lights first. Path lights require no electrical work and are quick to set up.
Path lights are an important part of any garden because they show people where to step. Each light has a solar panel which provides it with power. You will never have to send cords running across your yard. Cords can get in the way when you are cutting and trimming plants. Accidentally cutting into a cord can be dangerous. Path lights are safe to use outside and don’t need to be taken indoors when it rains. One huge benefit is that you will never have to pay for power costs. The lights get all the power they need from the sun. When used in large numbers, the savings can really add up.
Most path lights sit on a tall pole with their light beams pointing toward the ground. This creates a small circle of light which visitors can use to see by. Path lights should be lined up on either side of a path or walkway. This shows the limits of the path clearly. Path lights come in colors like blue, yellow and white. They create a surreal type of atmosphere and can really bring a garden to life. They come in convenient packs which can be bundles together to achieve full coverage.
