Direct Hair Implants With Micro-surgery

When hair implants were first being tried in the 1950′s the technique was very shall we say gross. This was true in the sense that micro-surgical processes just had not been developed yet. Therefore everything everything had to done on a big scale. For example, any sort of surgery within the abdomen required an incision of at least 10 inches which left a horrendous scar. Now most of the work can be done by making two small incision near the belly button with resulting scars that are just about unnoticeable.

The same can be said for hair implants. Originally a large patch of scalp with growing hair was removed and then cut into smaller pieces. These pieces were then implanted into the bald area leaving little islets of hair. With the new direct hair implant process individual hair follicles can be manipulated which leaves only a small pin prick visible for a few days.
