Arti bought Masccoes’s Antiques so she could make easy money and write stories and work on her novel when the store was quiet. She didn’t realize just how quiet the store would be day after day.

She began writing a science fiction story about very big tarantulas, bigger and hairier than the stuffed one in her front window, huge in fact.

She was so involved in her writing that she didn’t notice that a woman with a dog had come in and was browsing in her ‘ancient books’ section.

She finished writing a sentence before she spoke. “If you need any help, just let me know.”

“Well, actually I’m looking for something about how to get over a breakup.”

“If you don’t find a book there in my voluminous collection, I have more in the back room. Oh, ma’am please, your adorable little dog has just lifted his leg against one of my antique chests.”
