Larnaca in Cyprus

Chances are if your flying to Cyprus on holiday you will land at Larnaca International airport, the other major airport on the Greek side of the island being Paphos. Larnaca is one of the major cities in Cyprus located on the south east coast. Busy and bustling with its commercial port Larnaca has become a tourist destination in its own right. Not the place to be if you want to get away from it all but good fun if you like the faster pace of city life. The main focus for socialising and watching the world go by is down at the waterfront where the long beach front has plenty of bars, clubs and restaurants. There’s history here too and a number of big festivals throughout the year.Definitely worth checking out is the Kataklysmos or festival of the flood where fairs and boat races are the order of the day.
