  • Deck Lighting for Safety

Deck lighting is an important feature to have in your home for safety reasons.  Burglars and home invaders are less likely to rob a home that is well lit up.  Entering through a back door from a darkened back yard is a common entry point.  Installing deck lighting in your back yard will help alleviate the advantage a burglar could have.
There are a few deck lighting options available for safety purposes.  You can look into timed lights and/or motion sensor deck lighting.  Timed lights work from a timer.  You set how often and at what intervals you would like the deck lighting to go on.  This is really good for when you are on vacation and away from home.  Be sure and vary the options or it will look like it is on a timed lighting system and therefore a clue to a potential burglar that no one is home.  Motion sensor lights are available in deck lighting as well.  They can be set so that they will go on when someone approaches the area or walks in the area.  You can set the sensitivity also.  You probably don’t want them going on for a bird landing, but would for an unwanted visitor walking on your back deck.
Deck lighting for safety purposes is a perfect reason for spending the money and getting some installed.  There is no price that can be put on you and your family’s safety.
