The Elegance of Red Hair

The majority of women are naturally blonds or brunettes. Natural redheads are definitely in the minority, however it is common to see many women sporting red hair these days. Why is this? Because it is becoming increasingly popular to dye your hair red.

There are definite benefits to being a redhead, as well as a few traits or concerns. For example, a natural redhead tends to be very fair skinned and as such the incidence of skin cancer is fairly high amongst redheads. They have to be careful to protect their skin from the dangerous sun’s rays much more so than brunettes and even many blonds. Studies have shown that they are also more sensitive to pain.

For those who are not natural redheads, there are alternatives. Dyeing hair red is very popular, however it is not always easy to successfully dye your hair red. If you want to do so it may be best, at least for the first time, to have a professional dye your hair for you. That way you can, hopefully, be more assured of the outcome. There are also many natural looking wigs on the market these days; another alternative for those who would like to experience having red hair.

Be aware though, if you do decide to try red hair color dye such as a dark red hair color you will most likely need to change your style of  makeup and possibly your clothing as well. When it comes to makeup you will need to wear makeup with natural tones. Light brown or soft peach colors usually go very well with red hair. You will also need to switch to using brown eyeliner and mascara, as black can look too harsh.

Red hair colors are both attractive and alluring.  A redhead is sure to turn men’s heads when she walks by. If you are planning on going from a brunette or blond to a redhead be sure you plan ahead, so that you have the right make up and clothing to wear.
