  • Grandma’s Salt and Pepper Shakers Remembered

Posted on November 12th, 2009 admin No comments

We make strange connections sometimes in our minds.  I was recently thinking about my grandmother for some reason.  She was the only grandparent that I ever got to actually meet.  She passed on several years ago, but I still think of her often.

I thought of her while I was attending an estate sale.  The deceased person was an elderly lady who had lived alone.  From what I could tell, she did not have any surviving relatives.  One of the items being sold at the sale was an entire collection of salt and pepper shakers.  These were not just cheesy ones purchased at the dollar store.  You could tell by the way they were kept that they were old and they were valuable.  Looking at them reminded me of the collection my grandmother had all of those years ago.  I have no idea what ever became of her collection, but I’d really like to know.
