Getting A Tent For Your 1st Camping Trip
Posted on January 7th, 2011 No commentsIf you plan on going camping but haven’t done much of it in the past you are not alone. Camping is becoming more and more popular since the economy has limited our budgets and made it more difficult to plan vacations. Camping offers a nice alternative to a traditional family vacation because it is cheaper (once you have all the supplies), you don’t have to go as far and you still have the opportunity to get away from every day life. Before you purchase a new tent for your trip here are a couple of things you need to know.
1st, the type of camping you do is going to determine the type of tent you should get. The first and most popular choice amongst families is car camping which allows you to park next to your site or at least close by. The other type of camping is backpacking and in this case you would hike to your campsite. In car camping you can get as big of a tent as you like without worrying about it weighing you down on the trail. This makes large tents like an 8 man tent or a 10 man tent an option for families or large groups. However, if you are going to be carrying your tent you want as small and compact of a tent as you can get because you aren’t going to want to add to much weight to an already heavy pack.
Next, make sure you find a tent that can hold up to all of the different weather conditions Mother Nature wants to throw your way. A camping trip can be fun and relaxing but it can also turn in to a nightmare if your tent is poorly made. You can also get a seam sealer when you purchase your tent and apply this to the seams of your tent. This will give it a thicker more durable seam and help prevent leaks.
By getting a weather ready tent and one that is the appropriate weight for the type of camping you plan on doing you can have a wonderful experience! -
Functional Six Man Tents
Posted on November 29th, 2010 No commentsCamping with family and friends can be an extraordinary way to get away from it all and gain some balance in your life. Even if you are not an avid camper, you can still enjoy spending time in the woods because of all the modern innovations made in camping gear. Some of the more recent innovations can be seen in various brands of 6 man tents. These tents are large enough to allow the entire family to spend time together yet still be under one roof. In addition, they come with numerous safety and comfort features too.
Take for instance the Coleman Evanston 6 tent. It is big enough for an adult to stand up in yet only weighs 19.7kg. It provides two sleeping areas on either end that are large enough for three people. The main living area is in the center. This is the perfect family tent because it has an awning to extend the living area. Which means you can set up your cooking area right outside the door. However, the best features are new. The groundsheets are now thicker and more durable. This fully protects the occupants from water and wildlife. A new breathable polyester, called ‘no-see-um’, is a mesh inner that is lightweight and fully bug and flame resistant.
If you are looking for something even larger, consider the Vango Tigris 600 tent. This is a classic tunnel style tent. The large living area is in the center with two separate bedrooms on the ends. They are big enough to sleep one double and one group of four or the areas can be rolled back to sleep less people, making the main area larger. Some of its newer features include the 20 minute setup, cable entry point, and flame resistant materials.

Conway Trailer Tents
Posted on October 7th, 2009 No commentsConway are one of the oldest trailer makers around, and have been producing high quality goods for over 50 years. They are widely known as the experts on trailer manufacturing. Their ranges are the largest of anyone, and the emphasis is on luxury and comfort. Their reseach and development department is constantly leading the way with innovative and labour saving devices.
The interior of a conway trailer tent is a very nice place to be indeed. All the comforts of home are brought to life, such as curtains with tie backs, a fully working bathroom with toilet and shower cubicle, and back saving beds with upholstered mattresses. This all comes at a price of course, and many of these things are standard, which is why the entry level trailer is over £5000.
