  • Decorating with Vintage Art

Posted on August 29th, 2009 admin No comments

Art deco is a style of design that was most popular from the late 1920s through to the 1940s. The style was widely seen in fashion, manufacturing design, art and architecture at the time, but the best known examples in modern times can be found in architecture and some vintage homewares. The style drew on cubism, modernism and and futurism and is characterised by clean lines and patterns including geometric shapes. The image created is one of power, purpose, but also elegance. On of the best known examples of art deco architecture is the spire of the Chrysler building in New York. Decorating with a vintage art ornament or print in this style is a great way to add a unique and personalised touch to your home.
