Removing the tree sometimes is not enough.  It is always a good idea to finish the job with tree stump removal.  Sometimes trees can lead to problems with other things on your property. For example, if you have a plumbing back up, it may be discovered that tree roots have disturbed the flow in the sewage pipes in the yard. Tree branches spread underground and can sometimes crush or interfere with the plumbing lines. In this case, the tree and roots may need to be removed.

Simply repairing any damaged pipes is not enough. If you remove the tree, you must also track the tree roots in the ground and remove them as well. If you do not remove them, the same problem may arise in the future. It is much better to fix the problem completely while you are removing the tree.
