  • Why A Futon Mattress Is My Favorite

You’ll find a lot of articles written about products and services that are simply factual, straightforward or from the company’s PR people.  What about the reviews and personal level of experience?  Well, I know that this brief little article is not going to capture the attention of the futon mattress world, but I wanted to write it anyway.  Yes, I did have a futon bed in college that was good enough at the time.  You know, the ones that became flat as a pancake in no time.  Then, it felt like you were just sleeping on a wood board or whatever your futon was resting on.  That was years ago and I’m in my late thirties now.

Once again, I got to experience what a futon mattress had to offer when I slept over at a friend’s one night. Actually, my wife and I both slept on it.   We felt great in the morning!  It isn’t that our bed is uncomfortable or anything.  In fact, we had a popular, brand-name mattress at the time.  What this futon felt like was a combination of a firm cloud and a supportive chair, if that makes any sense.  This turned me on to them again.  See, this one had inner coiled springs that were then covered and wrapped in wool or something, I can’t remember what they said at the time.  Anyway, it was the topic at breakfast that morning and it didn’t take us long to go out and get one for ourselves.  We really can’t say enough good things about it.  Now, our guests sleep on a slightly used brand-name mattress.
